Updating your payment method.
Change the card on a hosting, domain, email or server subscription, manage saved cards, and top up your balance. Plus how payments work behind the scenes.
Cards expire, banks reissue them, you switch from a personal to a company card. Here's how to change the card your services are paid with.
How card payments work at Rivervo
- Card payments go through Paddle, our payment provider. You enter card details in Paddle's secure window — card numbers are stored by Paddle, never by Rivervo.
- Accepted: Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal where Paddle offers it.
- Each paid service is its own subscription. There is no "default card" setting and no separate "add card" page: you change the card on each service.
Changing the card of a service
New panel (rivervo.com/panel) — works for every product. Open the project, then:
| Service | Where |
|---|---|
| Website (hosting) | Website tab → Plan and billing → Change card |
| Domain | Domain tab → Change card |
| Business email | Email tab → Your email plan → Change card |
| Cloud server | server project → Billing → Change card |
A Paddle window opens — enter the new card and confirm. The next renewal of that service is charged to the new card.
Saved cards
Payments → Saved cards lists the cards on your account.
Removing a saved card stops automatic renewal of the subscriptions that use it until you add another card on their pages. If you remove a card, change the card on each affected service right after.
When a payment fails
- Website: the site keeps working for 5 days while Paddle retries the card, then it's suspended until paid. Fix it on the Website tab → Update card, or use Other ways to pay to renew from your balance instead.
- Business email: mail keeps working while Paddle retries. Update the card on the Email tab.
- Domain: Domain tab → Pay with another card.
- Cloud server: update the card on the server's Billing card.
Paying from balance instead of a card
Your Rivervo balance is in US dollars and can pay for hosting, domains and cloud servers (orders and renewals). Business email is paid by card only.
Top up: Payments → Top up balance — $10, $25, $50, $100 or any amount from $1 to $1000, paid by card.
A service paid from balance doesn't renew by itself: you renew it one period at a time with Renew on its page. We send reminders by email (and Telegram, if connected) before anything expires.
Card declined
If your card is declined:
- Check the card hasn't expired and has enough funds
- Check your bank allows online and international payments — the charge comes from Paddle, which some banks treat as a foreign merchant
- Try another card, or pay from balance where the service allows it
If the bank still blocks it, call them and mention a Paddle / Rivervo charge.
Strong Customer Authentication (3-D Secure)
Many cards ask for 3-D Secure confirmation (an SMS code or a confirmation in your bank's app) when you pay. That happens inside the Paddle window — complete it there.
Changing your billing details
Name, phone and address are in Account settings → Profile. They're used on invoices and as the owner details for new domains.
